Google+: THE NEW FACE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING

Google has finally rolled out the much anticipated Google+ project, an amazing and stunning social networking site. 'The Google+ Project: Real life sharing, rethought for the web'. This site is intended to compete favourably with other Social networks like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Just like Facebook started, a friend already among the small group of testers needs to send you an invitation before you can join. I got an invitation from a friend and I was able to join.

According to CNET, if Google keeps the Google+ invitation button active, he expects Google+ to reach 20million users this weekend. Apart from the simple design, the features on Google+ are really cool. Here are the 3 outstanding ones:

Circles: With this, you get to share posts with particular people in your life + you see what they are sharing too. You can share post with specific people in your circle i.e Family, Friends or public.
Hangout: You can start a Hangout at any time, from anywhere, up to 10 people can pop in and chat.

Sparks: Get a constant feed of what you are really into. There is always something to watch, read or share.

Apart from these, there are other things that makes your exprience with Google+ splendid

1. To scroll down the page, Press 'J' : To scroll up the page, Press 'K'

2. You can also add formatting to your post with the tricks below:

Bold- To bolld a word or sentence, Add * before and after the word or sentence respectively.
Italics- Add _ before and after the post.
For instance: *This is* _ICT CRIB_
This is ICT CRIB

3. To mention someone specifically in a post, Add + or @.

4. Another important aspect is that you can share posts with people of your choice: it could be public, Cicle(s) or even share with a particular individual by typing the name or email address of such an individual, if he's not on Google+, he can get to join Google+ from the mail.

5. You can also set options for your posts you make: you can edit it, delete or disable comments.

The list is endless, you need to be on Google+ to know more. The new face of social networking it is.

You can also use Google+ on the go by downloading the mobile application to your mobile phone. You get to know more when you get an invitation.
